- Mrs. Patrick Martin died at her home in Louisville last Sunday morning at
9
o'clock, after a lingering illness of over two
years,
- Her maiden name was Bridget Condlin,
and the only surviving member of her father's family is Andrew
Condlin,
- of Waddington where she was born 64 years ago on November
1. 1836.
- During a long term of married life she lived in he
neighboring town of Louisville. Besides her husband
she leaves one daughter,
- Julia A., and two sons, Darius and
Albert, to mourn her loss. She was a woman possessing all the
Christian virtues,
- and in every capacity of life, as maiden, wife or mother,
her part was performed well. Her afflicted family have the sympathy
- of a large circle of friends in their great loss.
- The funeral was held on Tuesday, December 11, at 9
o'clock at her last residence, and a 11 o'clock at the
Catholic church in Louisville,
- where the internment took place.
- A touching sermon was preached by Father Stevens. He referred to the
long life of usefulness lived by the deceased,
- to her sterling virtues, and to the
great loss felt by her family. He dwelt on the uncertainty of life,
- and the great necessity of being always prepared.
- A large concourse of people followed the remains to the grave,
testifying to the respect of the community for the deceased and her
sorrowing family.
